Convert stroke to path

If you have a path with a vector brush stroke applied to it, you can convert that stroke to individual, editable paths (sometimes called "unstructuring" the path or creating an outline of the path). The stroke color and attributes of the original path are converted to fill attributes in the resulting, unstructured shape. To convert one or more selected paths, click Convert Stroke to Path on the Object menu.

Unstructuring a B-spline path (left) with a brush stroke results in a complex Bezier path (right).

Note that this only affects paths and shapes with a non-basic brush stroke. Basic strokes and brush strokes based on bitmapped images cannot be converted to outlines. Text objects with brush strokes must be converted to paths before being unstructured.
